Our Story

Boot Up Customs is a creative studio blurring the lines between custom footwear, streetwear, mixed media art, and storytelling.

Michael Anderson started Boot Up Customs in 2017 as an artist working on custom cleats and sneakers for athletes, with the vision to start a fashion house under that same umbrella.

Launched in 2024, the fashion brand is known simply as

BOOT UP

Our mission is to encourage you to β€œbe where your feet are & reach for the stars."Β

THE HARDEST PART IS GETTING STARTED. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO...

...IS BOOT UP!

The Boot Up Timeline

2016

Painting for Leonard Fournette

In the Fall of 2016, Michael painted a picture of Leonard Fournette and his daughter Lyric. This was his first art project post-high school art class. Michael and his brother Eric went to Leonard's college apartment to deliver the painting.

2017

Boot Up Customs is founded

The idea sparks. Custom sneakers and cleats are the medium upon which Boot Up is built.

2018

Forever 44

Skylar Mays becomes the first ever Boot Up Customs client. Michael creates a custom sneaker as a memorial to the late Wayde Sims. While wearing the customs, LSU basketball wins the SEC championship. Skylar and the Sims family cut down the nets.

2019

Cleats for Ja'Marr Chase

Michael deliers his first-ever pair of custom cleats to Ja'Marr Chase in the LSU locker room. This was the same day that the original "Get the Gat" video was filmed - Michael and Ja'Marr appear at the beginning of the video and as the thumbnail.

2023

Achieving Greatness

Boot Up Customs goes on a generational run this year. In the spring, Michael does cleats for Dylan Crews, Paul Skenes, Tre Morgan, and Tommy White en route to the 2023 National Championship. That fall, Jayden Daniels wears Michael's cleats against Florida, the game that wins him the Heisman Trophy. Other clients include Livvy Dunne and Malik Nabers.

2024

Michael launches the Boot Up clothing brand

The "Sounds of Louisiana" collection marks the first from Boot Up. Two hats, 3 shirts, a hoodie, and shorts make up the collection. This drop achieves immediate commercial success, with most items selling out.

2025

To Be Continued...

Boot Up's "15-0 Collection" drops in November of 2025. 15 new items to celebrate the 2019 National Champion LSU football team. Michael signs an official deal with LSU.
